Trichocereus sp. "Pumacayan" clone from Peru

Hey guys, here´s one of the final previews from the new book. It´s a clone that originally comes from a population in Pumacayan in Peru. It´s actually a botanical clone but I felt like it deserves to be included in the book because it´s getting more and more common recently. The original clone comes from Peru and has been propagated and distributed by Aplantis for a few years and I hope it´ll find its way around the world. There´s also some seeds available of this strain and I wanna thank everyone who´s played a part in making this wonderful plant available. It´s just ridiculously beautiful and deserves to be propagated.

So yeah, get the new book through the campaign and in return you´ll get a beautiful Trichocereus book about clones, hybrids and cultivars. The book is the result of a group effort that´s been heavily supported by some of our members and the breeders in the community. What an excellent day for an Excorcism...ähm I meant a new Preview photo. This time it´s a photo showing the remarkable flower of the incredible Trichocereus bridgesii "Psycho0" x Echinopsis cross that was distributed by the SAB member PD. It´s an incredibly uncommon hybrid and looks nothing like the Psycho0 mother. The flower is as freaky as the whole plant is like and I am glad that this incredible plant was raised by Michael Stillman.

Trichocereus peruvianus ROSEI 2 - Preview

Hey guys, our campaign is slowly but steadily coming to an end and after I´ve shown a preview of the classic clone ROSEI 1 yesterday, I wanna show a similar one showing Rosei 2. Once again it´s a clone from the Fields collection, which could be one of the sister plants of Rosei 1.
Rosei is an older name for Trichocereus peruvianus that was never really accepted. These days it is no longer in use because Britton and Rose´s name Trichocereus peruvianus was the one that was picked for these plants.

So yeah, if you want your copy of the new SAN PEDRO HYBRIDS book NOW is the time. We´ll only print a very limited run and if we don´t reach our goal the run will even be more reduced. Today´s preview shows an incredible hybrid from Pedro Park, They sourced these amazing hybrids between Trichocereus pachanoi and an unknown Echinopsis. Due to the length and location of the flower tube, it is very likely that the father was a Pseudolobivia. These are now part of Echinopsis and you can read more about this hybrid and similar hybrids in the book

Today´s preview shows a really cool clone that I´ve been showing a lot recently. It´s the European Trichocereus macrogonus clone that´s been around for a very long time over here. It´s one of the oldest clones associated with Trichocereus macrogonus and was distributed by German cactus sellers and nurseries. It´s one of the most beautiful Trichocereus clones I own. It is unknown where it came from, but this plant is what you often get when you buy Trichocereus macrogonus in Germany.

This time it´s a variegated version of the well known columnar TBM. It´s really rare that this clone variegates and it´s either a spontaneous mutation or partially variegated offspring of the standard Trichocereus bridgesii monstrosa. Hey guys, new promo photo. Another Zelly hybrid, which is the product of a cross between Trichocereus scopulicola and a Trichocereus grandiflorus. This cross brought extraordinarily good results and so far all of these hybrids were great. Beautiful flowers and a typical columnar body. That´s a hybrid of my taste.

Trichocereus knuthianus SS03 - Sacred Succulents

Hey guys, after today we´re at 91% with 20 days to go. Time for another preview so we knock this ball out of the park.

This time the preview shows a SS03, which is one of Sacred Succulents´ clones and belongs to the species Trichocereus knuthianus. It´s a dark blue and massive Trichocereus that forms large stands. The plant was used in various hybrids, but compared to the large number of crosses with SS01 and SS02 it´s relatively rare. SS03 is a stunning Knuthianus and one of Sacred Succulent´s most interest plants.

Trichocereus scopulicola x Trichocereus grandiflorus "Zelly 6"

Today´s preview from my new book contains a photo of the incredible Trichocereus scopulicola hybrid ZELLY 6. This hybrid was bred by Misplant, who crossed a Trichocereus scopulicola with a red flowering Trichocereus grandiflorus. The outcome of that cross was incredible and brought some very beautiful flowers on a plant with the Scopulicola´s body. Of course the Grandiflorus had some influence on the body as well, but all Zelly hybrids I´ve seen were typical Scopulicola hybrids with beautiful flowers.

New day, new preview. This time it´s the Australian Trichocereus clone ROD. It actually is an Ecuadorian Trichocereus pachanoi that has a very unique look. The skin can be bright green, or rather blunt. The areoles have very deep notches and this plant is a good example of a that species. It´s been used in various crosses and there will be various cool hybrids involving it within the next few days.

Hey guys, here´s another preview from the upcoming book. This time it´s a beautiful photo donated by the breeder Heinz Bauer. The plant on the photo is a hybrid between a Trichocereus macrogonus and Pseudolobivia calorubra.
This is one of the best hybrids ever made. The wavy flower looks even more amazing in reality than it looks on the photos. The flowers of this hybrid are mesmerizing. The breeder of this incredible plant was Rolf Autenrieth.

Hey guys, another sick preview from the upcoming Trichocereus book. This time it´s the Aplantis clone CLONE ONE. A beautiful Trichocereus that looks unlike most other plants from the Trichocereus pachanoi complex that I´ve ever seen. The V-notches on this clone go very deep and give CLONE ONE a very unusual look. Larger plants have a very strange look and it´s just one of my favorite clones in a long time. New preview from the upcoming book. This time it´s another classic Autenrieth hybrid from a cross between a Trichocereus macrogonus and a Pseudolobivia calorubra. This hybrid is called AUT 12-4 and was the mother of the classic hybrid LEICHTE FEDER. The hybrid came from the breeder Autenrieth and is now propagated by Kakteen Vers. 😍

Trichocereus pachanoi CLONE ONE - Preview

New promo photo from upcoming book. This time it´s the incredible CLONE ONE from Aplantis.

Clone One is a Trichocereus pachanoi clone that was collected in Cajabamba in Peru in 2013. Its main characteristics are the bright green epidermis color and the rather uniquely shaped V-notches. It has 6 – 7 ribs and very short spines.

At the original site, this plant was hacked down by the previous owner and dumped beside a road. In Peru, those plants are often used as natural fencing and it is very common for the plants to be removed and thrown away at some point. In this case, it was a real case of luck that made this clone available and I am glad to have this beautiful plant in the book.
